CarobWay, the food, and agri-tech startup, was founded to bring carob - the sustainable super-crop - to life. CarobWay is reintroducing this climate-resilient superfood worldwide, including its proprietary carob ingredients. The company is unique in that it takes advantage of the entire fruit (seeds and pulp) – producing 15 different products, including traditional locust bean gum, fibers, protein and polyphenols, as well as innovative compounds for the food, nutrition and the cosmetics industries based on clinical studies and science-backed research. Under its agreement with Israel’s forestry organization, Keren Kayemet L’Israel (KKL), CarobWay currently harvests carob from a number of forests in Israel to conduct research and analyze the best varieties and growing conditions in Israel. Armed with these insights, CarobWay is working to bridge the ever-growing gap in worldwide supply, planting wide-area orchards in key locations. CarobWay cultivation strategies use minimal water, conserve power and apply mechanized harvesting methods.
