WatchkeepersUSA was founded in 2020 in Alaska, founded by merchant mariner Darcy Balcarce. I have been sailing for 10 years with various state and federal research companies, tug outfits, and cruise companies on the east and west coast. I’m a hawespiper, I accumulated my sea days. But I’m also alumni of the MITAGS Workboat Academy in Seattle where I took the classes needed for my 1600 Mate. I started WatchkeepersUSA to connect the generations of Merchant Mariners.
