The Champagne Academy was set up in 1956 to highlight the importance of the UK and Ireland as key markets. 16 Grand Marques currently work together to educate and inspire, running a once in a lifetime trip to Champagne, as well as events and tastings. The aim of The Academy is to give members of the on and off trade the opportunity to learn more about Champagne with an in-depth annual course. The trip is truly a one off with students experiencing a behind the scenes visit to all 16 Grand Marques and learning from the winemakers themselves. After taking the course, students have the opportunity to become a Champagne 'Academician', joining an illustrious list of the great and the good of the drinks industry.
