We are high-end modelmakers for film and TV, based in Wimbledon and have been keeping it real since 1983. Asylum provides a complete design and fabrication service, right from concept development to construction and stand-by on set. We have a full-time team of talented people from various disciplines and a pool of trusted freelance specialists that set a benchmark standard that others can only aspire to. As well as working on numerous iconic adverts (Guinness - Tower of Babylon, Sony Bravia - Housing Estate Paint Explosions), we have provided models and physical effects for many films, including 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' and Jonathan Glazer's 'Under the Skin'. Asylum has also provided fine detailed work on visual merchandising projects (for big clients such as Louis Vuitton, Belstaff and Burberry) and have also produced prototypes for the product design and medical industry. Over the last few years our digital department has been increasing it's staff and tools to include more software, 5 axis CNC, 3D printing, 3D scanning facilities and photo realistic pre-vizualisation.
