Smarmore Castle is a family-run residential clinic for the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction & dual diagnosis based in the Republic of Ireland. Founded in 2015, our comprehensive residential rehabilitation programme follows the Minnesota Model with a focus on the 12 Steps and evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, DBT, trauma therapy. Our multidisciplinary team is under the medical management of a Consultant Psychiatrist. Smarmore Castle runs a Tier 4 detox programme, meaning that all medical care takes place as an inpatient and we have a full time nursing team. Expert clinical consultations, daily group and individual sessions are among the many distinctive features of treatment. Our therapeutic programme involves daily group therapy, individual therapy, trauma therapy, family therapy, women’s group therapy, grief group and a range of complementary therapies. Our location is set near the town of Ardee, about 45 minutes drive north of Dublin. Smarmore Castle is a beautiful castle and country house in County Louth, with origins in the 14th century. The surrounding countryside offers our patients an escape from their chaotic lives surrounded by an experienced team of treatment professionals.
