Pest Control Operators of California

Our Mission Statement: Through environmental stewardship and legislative advocacy, we protect people, property and our food supply. For over 60 years, as a non-profit trade association, we have and continue to accomplish our mission by keeping our members up-to-date on new industry laws, procedures and materials. We work closely with the California Structural Pest Control Board and Department of Pesticide Regulation to help shape regulations that protect the credibility of our industry and the safety of pest control customers in California. We’re the industry’s voice at the California State Capitol and this is evident by the following legislation that we have fought against throughout the years. Successfully fought efforts to stop AB1788, which would ban the “second generation” category of anticoagulant rodenticides. Currently, it stands as a 2-year bill and we will continue to fight this bill as it is reviewed. Successfully fought efforts to require costly pesticide notification before every application. Stopped three times legislation to prohibit the same company from doing the work recommended after performing a wood-destroying organism inspection. Blocked efforts to require inspection of all work performed. Helped improve consumer relations with Med-Net which is the PCOC’s 24-hour a day hotline that answers customer questions about the safe use of pesticides.
