ELSA is the world's largest independent law students' association. It comprises a membership of more than 60.000 students and recent graduates with the purpose to contribute to legal education, to foster mutual understanding and to promote social responsibility of law students and young lawyers. ELSA operates primarily through its local groups, which are located at more than 400 universities throughout 44 countries in Europe.
