Sidewalk Driver
www.sidewalkdriver.comSidewalk Driver is high-energy, highly-infectious, hook-driven, Rock with a capital ‘R.’ The sound is modern but the heart of the band seems to be more in line with 1970s rock culture… the Bowies and the Belushis of the world. Lead singer Tad McKitterick’s voice has power and clarity, is expressive without falling off the pitch and is forceful without losing subtle moments. Guitarists Kate Murdoch and Jared Egan seamlessly weave crunchy rhythms with soaring solos while bassist Jonn Smith and drummer A.J. Locke hold down the bottom end. The songs always come with some odd bent but not one that repels; rather, they welcome you to join in the celebration like a carnival barker hyping a freak show. --- Direct support for: Bon Jovi Andrew W.K. Electric Six The B-52s Spacehog Twenty One Pilots The Sheila Divine Freezepop Bang Camaro The Upper Crust Gordon Gano Semi Precious Weapons --- Jed Gottlieb over at the Herald nailed it when he wrote “Sidewalk Driver eliminate the psychic space between audience and band with self-deprecating humor, simple love songs and humility.” Through all of the off-beat anthems and confetti bombast, Sidewalk Driver prove the heart of a really great show is having fun and sharing that fun with the sold out crowd that packed The Sinclair to see if this show can be even better than the last. It can. It was. I love this band. - Johnny Anguish, Daykamp Music, February 4, 2015 --- 2018 Boston Music Awards Nominee for "Live Artist of the Year" and "Vocalist of the Year" 2017 Boston Music Awards Nominee for "Male Vocalist of the Year" 2015 Boston Music Awards Nominee for "Album/EP of the Year" and "Song of the Year" 2014 Boston Music Awards Nominee for "Live Artist of the Year" 2012 Boston Music Awards Nominee for "Male Vocalist of the Year" 2010 Boston Music Awards Nominee for "Rock Artist of the Year" 2011 Rock 'n' Roll Rumble Semi-Finalist
