FOI research for a safer future FOI is one of the leading defense and security research agencies in Europe. The majority of our employees are researchers. What we do We provide security policy analyses and perform assessments of various types of threat. We are leaders in submarine research and research related to explosive substances. We also research in areas related to aviation systems, IT security, radar, laser and other sensor systems, and protection against hazardous substances. FOI undertakes research and development from both a long-term perspective with the aim of building up pure knowledge, and research and development and analysis for more short-term application to resolve problems faced by our commissioning clients.
