Lincoln Ladies FC has recently been awarded a coveted slot in the inaugural ladies professional football league, to be launched by the Football Association in March 2011. The League will pit the Lincoln Ladies against such football luminaries as Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool, along with Birmingham City, Bristol City and Doncaster Belles. The new ladies professional league is the most important new initiative the Football Association has launched in recent years and is being supported by an unprecedented allocation of budget and resource in the infrastructure, operations and marketing of the new league.
