DesignerShala is a one-stop digital fashion design academy for all things fashion. We work on a 4-P formula which our founder has devised: Play: Students can play our pre-recorded fashion design videos and access our resources as per their convenience and learn from them. Pause: Our flexible modules and 24x7 access to the academy allows students to pause whenever life takes over and start right from where they left off! Practice: With enough resources, a support group and downloadable templates, we give students the freedom and encourage them to practice as much as possible! Perform: Whenever they are ready, they can take the next step by finishing the course and submitting their final collection for review from their very own Designer Didi, Shivangi Lahoty. DesignerShala stemmed from the desire to make design education accessible and affordable for fashion aspirants. Our founder, Shivangi Lahoty, hails from a small town in the upper hills of Assam where opportunities and knowledge for fashion were limited. However, she challenged her situations and went on to study at NIFT Mumbai and FIT New York in a unique dual-degree programme for Fashion Design. In order to give back to her industry, she started with a YouTube channel to help design students kickstart their fashion careers and has so far helped three batches and thousands of students chase their passion for fashion! Later she honed her business skills at IIMA with their Creative and Cultural Business Programme. Being a Shenomics fellow and a NITI AAYOG Incubee, Shivangi started with DesignerShala during a pandemic to give fashion aspirants a chance to chase their fashion careers!
