Kambrio arose out of deep convictions about the role of good design not just of a building, but of the all that goes in to its creation, deployment and connection to place. We appreciate the opportunity to build far better human environments and are taking action on it. Kambrio is currently prototyping and testing homes and buildings designed for urban infill sites, off-grid locations or dynamic communities. Kambrio is about connections - between disciplines, people, ecosystems, culture, history and the present place we inhabit. We stand on the shoulders of giants in the fields of design and believe in the American spirit of innovation. We leverage advanced building technologies, innovative materials and integrated supply chain management to enable the delivery of homes, buildings and communities that are inherently sustainable, customizable, durable and affordable by design. There is a large and unmet market for homes whose design, including how they fit and relate to their site and location, enable a healthier and more connected life on all levels. Good design creates great value especially when it harnesses technology that enable precision dry assembly for radical efficiencies from design to finance. Integration between design and construction technologies translate to the virtual elimination of construction waste, a reduction in labor and number of trades involved and the compression of time from months to weeks. Research and development over several years has led to new materials and methodologies which when taken together form a resilient, systems dynamics approach to the process of design, construction and development. Plant and earth-based materials meet or exceed building codes and standards, and beyond that they feel and look great, cost less to own and maintain, and ultimately are a pleasure to own and live in.
