The North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA), founded in 1970, is a state affiliate of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). The mission of NCMEA is to promote music as a fundamental component of education and to provide opportunities for lifelong learning by supporting teachers, students, and communities in developing and fostering excellence in music. NCMEA membership comprises more than 2,400 K-12, collegiate and higher education music educators.
