2043 SBC

Our company is founded on the belief that structural change requires long-term, specific solutions, executed in sustained partnership. Our founder reached an unwavering conclusion after spending the past 10 years working at the intersection of entrepreneurship, economic development, and innovation. Entrepreneurship is the best way to grow the American Economy while solving for some of our worst racial economic inequities. The only method to assure shared prosperity for all people groups is through comprehensive Private-Public-Philanthropic Partnerships focused on the unique needs of local and regional markets. 2043 was founded on March 11, 2020. Two days before, the state of Minnesota shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In many ways, our company represents the dynamic, ever-changing landscape of the market environment. We can achieve recovery and exponential growth better than before when we: have access to relevant and accurate information (data), lean on relationship pathways that allow for quick go-to-market strategies (connectivity), and engage in mutually beneficial outcomes (trust). We often use the analogy of seed and soil when it comes to entrepreneurship. Rather than focus on the seed (the venture), we spend most of our efforts on the soil (the local economic environment). We believe by working with the institutions most equipped with resources, power, and policymaking ability; we can have a sustained impact on economic growth. We are organized as a specific benefit corporation because we believe fiduciary responsibility to shareholders is not mutually exclusive to what is best for stakeholders and the wider public. In fact, we believe sustainable mission-driven organizations provide the best impact on the public good long term. The sole purpose of our existence can be boiled to one sentence: Achieve the possibility of broad economic prosperity for all by the year 2043.
