The WAAFL currently caters for 69 clubs with over 10,000 registered players. Accommodating players as young as 16 years, the WAAFL provides a quality high standard competition whilst providing a professional brand of football for a considerable number of volunteer personnel and social supporters. The WAAFL provides a quality high standard competition for players not wishing to endure the commitment to WAFL training due to study commitments, career commitments or simply a lifestyle that considers football as a recreational pursuit. Often the beginning point for many well-known WAFL and AFL personnel, the WAAFL provides a strong competition for those starting their careers in amateur football and becoming the football champions of tomorrow. High profile players and our Colts League name-sakes include Phil Scott, Drew Banfield, Laurie Keene, Brett Jones and two-time Sandover Medallist Ian Dargie all who played for the West Coast Eagles. The WA Amateur Football League continues to focus on the future to ensure it can meet new challenges, and set new standards of excellence and relevance for member clubs.
