The Moreton Bay Hydrogen Hub will be Australia’s first wood waste-to-green hydrogen project and the country’s first carbon removal hydrogen facility. Under a Joint Venture between CAC-H2 Pte Ltd & Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited, the Moreton Bay hydrogen Hub marks Phase-1 of a three-phase rollout with plans for additional plants in NSW and Victoria. The plant will be constructed to produce an initial hydrogen output of 500kg per day, scaling up to 2,500kg per day once fully operational. The project anticipates removing thousands of tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere through the production of Biochar as a co-product alongside Green Hydrogen. This makes the project 'Carbon Negative' and the first of its kind in Australia.
