The Kids of 216
www.kidsof216.orgThe Kids of 216 is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that serves as a vocational summer school and student employment center for inner city high school students during the summer months. We provide summer employment that teaches the students skills in construction by supervising them to complete inner city residential and community revitalization projects. Our program is the only kind in the country to train at-risk youth for full-time work in the streets of their own community. The Kids was founded in early 2017, and Summer 2017 saw the first initiative. Our programming helps students earn an Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10 (OSHA 10) certification and have the opportunity to hear from local companies and business leaders on topics within in the life skills curriculum, all in addition to the viable job skills learned. Our organization believes that "The Kids of 216" are the future of "216," and that the surest and most sustainable road to economic independence is to teach these youth how to work their way out poverty. Join our campaign at www.kidsof216.org.
