the iron and steel industry, Cosimat is the main producer and trader of pig iron. The company adopts a model of industrial self-sustainability, with the application of clean technology from coal to vegetal coal, from cultivated biomass. Since it was inaugurated in 1999, modernization and technical improvement have been the pillars of the construction of Cosimat's identity. The production capacity is being doubled with the addition of another blast furnace in operation, which can reach 300,000 tons / year of pig iron. To consolidate its commitment to sustainable development, Cosimat reinforces every day this ideal with new investments, with an eye to the future. At present, its attention focuses on the search for self-sufficiency in charcoal, with the project to generate gas energy in the plant, in partnership with Cemig.
