“The government, in collaboration with the private sector, must promote the full development of Roosevelt Roads (RR) to create jobs and spur the economic growth of the Region and counteract (i) the effects of the closure of the Former Naval Station RR in 2004, which devastated the Eastern Region of PR and, (ii) the current fiscal crisis that PR faces” The Local Redevelopment Authority for Roosevelt Roads (LRA) is focusing efforts to identify private developers with the ability to advance the business objectives of the LRA, by creating partnerships that will jumpstart the redevelopment of RR and transcend government administrations . Upgrade the infrastructure system through private partnerships and federal programs to allow the continuation of current operations and set the groundwork for the upcoming redevelopment, further enhancing the attributes and the value of this redevelopment project to private investors. Upgrades to infrastructure systems are critical and represent the foundation for the RR’s economic development and prosperity . Continue to promote and develop specific projects within that context to jumpstart job creation.
