Mountains of the Moon University
www.mmu.ac.ugMountains of the Moon University (MMU) was founded in 2005 by leaders of the civic, faith-based and business communities of the Rwenzori region (Western Uganda); On 1st July 2022, MMU officially became a public University in the Rwenzori region as a way for GoU to enhance accessibility to Higher Education. The six schools (faculties) of MMU are geared towards making a difference to the social and economic development of the region and the Country: - School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, - School of Business and Management Studies, - School of Education, - School of Arts and Humanities, -School of Informatics and Computer Sciences, - School of Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, - Directorate of Postgraduate Studies and Research Currently MMU has an enrollment of over 1,800 students for it's undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Furthermore, it engages in a variety of research and community service projects with universities and other partners from 4 continents. MMU has a long term partnership with the Flemish Inter University Council-University cooperation for Development (VLIR-UOS). OUR VISION To be a centre of excellence in teaching, research and service to the community. OUR MISSION To produce outstanding, well rounded, morally up right and innovative graduates with a knowledge base for making a positive impact on the community. Core Values: - Practising hard work and professionalism - Embracing transparency and being accountable - Fostering Teamwork - Fostering Innovativeness - Maintaining respect and institutional loyalty - Cherishing responsiveness and service to the community
