14NEWS is the NBC affiliate n Evansville, Indiana. It is the Tri-State's News and Weather Leader and is number one in all newscasts in household and demographic numbers. WFIE-TV is owned by Raycom Media, based out of Montgomery, Alabama. 14NEWS celebrated its 55th Anniversary on November 15, 2008. WFIE began broadcasting on November 15, 1953, operating on Channel 62 and was the first television station broadcasting in Evansville. This fact is reflected in Channel 14’s call letters: We’re First In Evansville.
