Luciano came to London to study at the Inchbald School of Garden Design in 1994 and three years later established his garden design practice. In 2001 Luciano won the British Association of Landscape Industries Principal Award for Best Domestic Garden Scheme and has since gone on to win the award a second time in 2006 plus eight other industry awards including an RHS Gold Medal at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2009 for the Champagne Laurent-Perrier garden. Today, Luciano is known for the understated elegance of his designs and aims to create a timeless and harmonious space. Characterised by simple and clean symmetrical design, he has developed a completely unique garden aesthetic that makes use of nature, materials, light, space and art in a way that has never been used before in gardens. Luciano launched his book ‘The Gardens of Luciano Giubbiliei’ published by Merrell in December 2010. The book looks at a selection of Luciano’s garden designs and includes illustrations with planting plans, documentary images and photographs by Steven Wooster. The book further looks at the artists, architects, designers and other people that have influenced Luciano throughout his career.
