Since the turn of the last century Camden Town has been a cosmopolitan centre for the Arts, fashion, media and music, home to theatres, music venues and galleries and of course the famous Camden Town Group which included the artists Walter Sickert and Lucien Pisarro. The latest exciting addition to the area is the Camden Image Gallery, situated opposite Camden Road station. Camden Image Gallery is owned by Elena Chimonas, who has a degree in Photography and works as a freelance photographic artist. One of the motivations behind Elena's decision to open the gallery was that she realised that she had met many artistically innovative individuals whose work was languishing under their beds and may never be widely seen. With that in mind Elena has opened the gallery with the aim of offering affordable packages for new artists who will be able to exhibit alongside more established artists. Her hope is that the new artists of today will become regular and established exhibitors at Camden Image Gallery who will encourage the next generation of new artists. Camden Image Gallery is available to hire for any genre or medium of art, including Photography, Fine Art, Illustration, Graphic Design, Film, through to Sculpture, Fashion and Poetry and Play Readings. We try to offer packages whenever possible that best suit the individual exhibitor's artistic and financial requirements. The hire period is normally for a week or multiple weeks, however shorter hire periods are negotiable. All exhibitors will be expected to sign a contract of hire and provide a deposit on booking.
