Film Training Manitoba
www.filmtraining.mb.caFTM is dedicated to providing high caliber training and professional development programs to sustain Manitoba’s Film Industry, which is part of Manitoba’s vibrant cultural community. FTM works closely with the industry to identify the training needs within the community. We deliver practical workshops that provide entry-level and advanced skill development for Manitoba crewmembers. FTM offers the required courses for membership to IATSE local 856 and the DGC Manitoba District Council. In September of 2008 we began offering these courses online, providing access to training for people living in rural areas of Manitoba. FTM also collaborates with sponsors and industry partners to put together workshops and presentations that provide our local crewmembers with advanced training and professional development. FTM also partners with local production companies to offer work experience opportunities. All work experience opportunities occur within active film work environments such as film sets, production offices or related facilities. Finally, FTM offers career counselling and information sessions throughout the year. Those who are new to the industry learn about Manitoba’s film industry, our training programs, and career opportunities.
