Trained students provide pro bono remote and in-person immigration legal services to asylum seekers. This includes intake, case development, and representing them in their proceedings. Students also develop community organizing strategies with clients and local immigrant communities to campaign for local, state, and federal issues important to them. SCIJ then runs the training program, operates the clinic, and provides the legal oversight. Students apply their skills through SCIJ’s clinic located at the partner schools.
