Kids-U is a local 501c3 nonprofit founded in November 2002 to address the high dropout rates of Dallas County’s youth. We offer programs that emphasize the whole child approach in learning. Our unique free after-school tutoring program is set up on-site in low-income apartment communities in Dallas, Texas. Our goal is to provide students Kindergarten through 8th grade, pathways out of poverty for those who are most at-risk of not completing their education by providing tutoring in the core learning subjects of math, language arts and reading. At Kids-U we are innovative educators with a precise goal of ensuring our students are successful in life. We believe in focusing on the whole child. Our innovative approach concentrates on educational programs that extend from the home, school, and then into the community. Our unique curriculum and low staff to child ratios sets us apart from other after-school programs. Providing programs uniquely located within low-income apartment communities ensures that program services are directed to students who are most at risk of not successfully completing their education and affording resources available to all.
