Endow, Inc.
www.endowinc.comOur History Endow was formed in 1978 by its principals, Thomas L. McLeary, CLU and Ann E. Smith, PHD, to provide insurance coverage for their corporate clients that could not be purchased through their primary life company, the Prudential. The business grew at such a phenomenal rate that Endow was incorporated in 1982. In 1982, Endow began targeting larger business organizations. Endows primary focus had been on professional corporations and the expertise of its principals was out-growing that marketplace. In 1983, Endow, Incorporated formed a joint venture relationship with Rummel Associates. Rummel Associates was a 46-year old property and casualty agency. Endow felt it needed to also provide professional services in the property and casualty area for its clients. Endow elected to form a joint venture relationship with an existing agency that provided superior service instead of forming its own organization. That relationship flourished and many commercial accounts were subsequently acquired. The two most recognized accounts are the Chicago Housing Authority’s property coverage, and Endows participation on the general liability and property coverage of the construction of White Sox stadium. Endows employee benefits business expanded rapidly in the mid-80. In 1985, Endow won a competitive bid for the consulting contract to review and redesign the Chicago Housing Authority’s Health and Dental Program. This project was completed in late 1985 and Endows work generated approximately $400,000 in annual savings for the Housing Authority. In the late 80’s, Endow expanded its business to include executive compensation. These plans included Insured Salary Continuation plans, Split Dollar Life Insurance programs, Executive Disability programs, and Group Life Replacement programs. For its closely held businesses, Endow became an expert at Business Succession Planning, Estate Planning, and Retirement Planning.
