Continuity
www.continuitystl.orgOur non-profit's mission is to expand diversity in media production through skills-based training, mentorship, and opportunities for untapped talent. Continuity launched CREW in 2022, and our primary focus is to provide quarterly, day-long advanced workshops going over more advanced media production topics and practical on-set skills. The program also includes networking opportunities between participants and media production professionals and acts as a training program that allows participants access to special employment opportunities through Continuity partner agencies such as the Missouri Film Office, Missouri Arts Council (MAC), Regional Arts Commission (RAC), and Missouri Humanities Council (MHC). Participants also have access to mentors and supportive services to help them as they work on their own projects and navigate finding employment in the field. This program evolved from feedback from past programming that there was a need for more in the field and practical training to help participants be more “set ready” and feel more confident in their first roles/new roles in the media production field. The Continuity CREW Apprenticeship Program encourages St. Louis area production companies to hire more diverse crews in key growth positions. By placing CREW Program participants on professional sets as production assistants (PA) and the Missouri Film Office subsidizing their day rate, this unique program: - Grows diversity in the media industry - Gives real life media experience to those desiring to get their foot in the industry - Aids production companies with crew that represents our community landscape
