BIO Integration is an international open access journal dedicated to publishing multidisciplinary views driving the progress of modern medicine. Effective integration of diverse scientific disciplines, incorporating perspectives of academia, industry, governmental organization, and rapid translation of these discoveries to the clinics is essential for realizing the potential of the next era of biomedical research. Personalized medicine underlines the role of science collaboration as a major innovation driver in modern medical research, however, such science collaborations are also subject to relevant challenges because interests, values, and aims often significantly differ between academia and industry.
