Fondation JOONAM
www.joonam.frThe JOONAM Endowment Fund (”JOONAM Foundation”) was created by Frédéric and Marie-Hélène - brother and sister, co-founders of Redlab Paris -, with Alice (daughter and niece). Its creation is our response to the medium and long-term consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on women and girls. Indeed, since the start of 2020, isolation and confinement policies have not only revealed women's vulnerabilities and increased their domestic burdens, but they have also weighed on their health. While dedicated health services for women remained important during the COVID-19 pandemic, in some countries these were neglected as their funding was diverted to pandemic responses. Thus, due to COVID-19, millions of women and girls will not only be deprived of family planning services, but will also face food crises, malnutrition or starvation. The pandemic has also made more women more susceptible to noncommunicable diseases and other already existing diseases, while making them more vulnerable to new physical and mental illnesses. Faced with such a context, the objective of the JOONAM Endowment Fund is clear: to carry out or support, in a long-lasting and lasting manner, any action of general, scientific, cultural or educational interest, aimed at improving health, access to care and prevention, and the health conditions of women in emerging countries. And, more particularly, those of adolescent girls, young women of childbearing age, as well as those of young mothers (and their children). The fund will therefore contribute, directly or indirectly, to promoting the implementation and deployment of projects aimed at improving and strengthening the components of health systems dedicated to women and girls: health services and products, pharmaceutical systems, reproductive information and sanitary education, health policies.
