「誇りを持ち愛される大学をめざして」 名古屋市立大学は自然の恵み豊かな濃尾平野の大地に抱かれた中部圏の中心都市である名古屋市の市民によって、1950年（昭和25年）に設立されました。本学の大きな特徴は、医学部、薬学部、経済学部、人文社会学部、芸術工学部、看護学部と総合生命理学部の7学部・研究科からなる総合大学で、優れた人材の育成、市民の健康福祉への寄与、先端的研究の世界への発信をしていることです。 全ての市民、学生、教職員、同窓生、その家族らが一体となり、誇りを持ち愛される大学をめざして、世界をリードする大学へと発展し続けています。 Aiming at a university in which citizens feel pride and affinity Nagoya City University was established in 1950 by citizens of Nagoya City, the central city of the Chubu Region in the bosom of the naturally blessed Nobi Plain. The major characteristics of NCU are its composition as a comprehensive university that has seven schools and faculties (the Medical School, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Faculty of Economics, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Design and Architecture, the School of Nursing, the School of Biology and Integrated Sciences) and seven graduate schools (the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Graduate School of Economics, the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Graduate School of Design and Architecture, the Graduate School of Nursing, and the Graduate School of Natural Sciences), and that cultivates excellent human resources, contributes to the promotion of public health and welfare, and shares the fruits of its cutting-edge research with the world.
