The foundation of Smt. Kamalabai Educational Institution was laid by a visionary philanthropist and entrepreneur, Dharmaprakash Sri Rao Bahadur Thiruvengadaswamy Mudaliar in the year 1931. His vision to educate and flourish the lives of children irrespective of their gender or class led to a proud lineage of the school over several years. To keep abreast with time and to meet the needs of the rapidly growing society, the institution branched into providing CBSE curriculum and the CBSE school was established in the year 2006. For years, the school has emphasized its focus on overall development of children.
