The American Society of São Paulo
www.amsoc.com.brThe American Society of São Paulo is a civil, non-profit association founded on May 10, 1950. The Society is led by a Board of 20 dedicated volunteers, of which up to three can be non-American citizens. The day to day activities is managed by an office manager. There are four executive positions; President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary; the President must be an American citizen. In 2009, the General Meeting approved the formation of the President's Council. This Council is made up of ex-Presidents of the Board who are available to the Board on an advisory capacity. The Society acts as a liaison between the membership and a variety of organizations, including the American Consulate, the American Chamber of Commerce, American schools, churches, charities, and athletic groups, to name a few. We promote friendship by organizing social, cultural, and athletic events for its diverse membership; encourages integration with the Brazilian society; and supports the American traditions of education, philanthropy and volunteerism.
