Our school is an alternative to the traditional middle and high school experience that prepares students for careers in medicine, science, engineering, and business. It was named in honor of Dr. Michael E. DeBakey, the renowned heart surgeon and medical researcher. We offer a U.S. curriculum including extensive Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The program will serve students in grades 7 – 12. Academy grades 7th & 8th focus on preparing students for the rigorous high school curriculum in grades 9 – 12. Michael E. DeBakey High School – Qatar is an outstanding school, offering students a rigorous college preparatory Internationally Accredited American curriculum, that includes 5 years of science, mathematics, engineering, business, & technology along with an excellent introductory study of medicine. Students will have the opportunity to have experiences with medical professionals as well as earn credit through on-line “Virtual School” courses, dual credit courses with local universities & college credit through AP exams.
