We are responsible for buying, planning and assessing health services to meet the needs of the people of mid Essex. This process is known as ‘commissioning’. We were appointed by the Government and receive an annual budget of around £400million to spend on your healthcare. We are clinically led, which means we are made up of doctors, nurses and other health professionals. So people with experience of participating in the health system are working with you to decide how and where your money should be spent. The decisions we make are always informed by your views. We actively seek your opinions and are proud to involve patients and our local communities when commissioning local health services.
