Project CARE | Volunteer Abroad
www.careducation.orgProject CARE organises group volunteering trips to schools across Asia and Africa and is run by a group of volunteers. It was founded in 2012 and has since coordinated 15 group volunteering trips, raising over £100,000 towards transformational projects, including sanitation projects and the building of new school infrastructure (such as classrooms, playgrounds, toilets and kitchens) at a number of sponsored schools in India and Africa. What makes Project CARE different? • Project CARE is run by a group of volunteers who have each volunteered through Project CARE • Opportunity to volunteer abroad with a group of diverse and passionate individuals • 100% of donations received reach the grassroots projects (NB: no one within the charity receives a salary or other reimbursement for operating it) • We do not charge any administration or other fees for the trips • Achievable fundraising target for each volunteer • Significantly subsidised accommodation, meals and transfers costs • Support and training before and during the trips, including a full-day workshop prior to trips • No local language skills or prior teaching experience required • Immersion in the local community • Simple application and enrolment process Currently organise trips to: • Navchetan Andhjan Mandal School, a school for children with a variety of physical and mental impairments in Bhuj, Gujarat in India • Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association School, the only school housing children in a remote location in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in Manali, Himachal Pradesh in India • Auro Technical School, a vocational college providing courses in hairdressing, tailoring, bricklaying and carpentry in the rural town of Pajwenda near Tororo in Uganda For any enquiries, please contact projectcare@careducation.org.
