Gray Area
www.grayarea.co.ukMy research focuses on romantic and platonic relationships. How they’re formed, how they’re maintained, and what causes them to fail and falter. I am particularly interested in understanding physical attraction, laughter, and self-disclosure, and draw upon a range of disciplines to help me do so - including cognitive neuroscience, philosophy, and evolutionary theory. Beyond my award-winning academic work, I have also served as a “relationship guru,” offering behavioural insight to large- and small-scale businesses, and improving connections with customers and employees. I hold degrees in psychology from the Universities of Durham and Oxford, and live in London.
