Every year, hundreds of BC families travel to Vancouver in search of life-saving treatment for their sick child. In an unfamiliar city and in a vulnerable state, and often unable to afford a hotel, the challenges they face seem overwhelming. Ronald McDonald House BC is a caring home for seriously ill children and their families when they must travel to Vancouver for treatment. At the House, families have access to hot meals, comfortable accommodation, and other services which put joy and normalcy back into their lives. Most importantly, families at Ronald McDonald House BC have a safe, affordable place where they can stay together under one roof. Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon depends on community support to serve up to 2,000 families each year. We also serve BC families at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Surrey Memorial Hospital, a house within the hospital for families with children receiving treatment.
