Well Suited is a nonprofit organization Founded in 1997 by Janet Lavender, for the purpose of providing a 21st Century Comprehensive Employment and Career Readiness program for Men, Women and Youth who live in low-income communities . In 2020, we conducted an Individualized Remote Pilot College and Career Planning Program with 100 High School Students and 50 College Interns from CSU and UC Universities who were trained to use our College and Career Planning Curriculum "Youth with a Passion" to guide students with creating their own college and career pathway that promotes Post-Secondary Education to either college or technical school that will give them the education or training needed to pursue a career/entrepreneurship of their interest. In addition, to our College Readiness we provide our students with Employment Readiness Skills that prepare them for Internship/Part-time employment opportunities that give them the opportunity to explore their career interest. This Summer 2021, Well Suited will be introducing the "First Ever" Remote "College and Career Planning Clubhouse" for High School, Post-High School and College Students to utilize for their College or Career Planning. As a member of the Clubhouse students can request a College or Career Coach to assist them in a range of college or career planning. In addition, they will be invited to participate in our monthly Professional Development Networking Meetings where they can join one of our Power Breakout Sessions that best suits their interest. All services given by Well Suited are given remotely 1:1 with a College and Career Coach.
