The Veterinary Virtual Care Association (VVCA) is on a mission to make virtual care part of an elevated standard of care in veterinary medicine. With the exponential growth of technology solutions, the sudden demand for virtual care precipitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the acceptance of virtual care in human medicine, the need for a cohesive strategy for the accelerated adoption of veterinary virtual care is more important now than ever. The current ecosphere is populated by a disorganized array of practitioners, technology providers, and allied partners with no consensus on how to move forward. We aim to change that by advocating for best practices, providing educational resources developed by thought leaders, and creating a space for a wide alliance of professionals to congregate and accelerate the adoption of telehealth. In today’s world, virtual care is an essential tool for ensuring every animal around the world has access to safe, appropriate, and effective veterinary care. By assembling all the thought leaders in this space in one arena, VVCA will make that happen in a responsible, accelerated, and most importantly effective manner.
