Housed at Montana State University in beautiful Bozeman, MT, the Center for Biofilm Engineering is on the leading edge of research pertaining to biofilms. In fact, we have been the world leader in biofilm research since 1990 when the National Science Foundation awarded MSU a prestigious Engineering Research Center grant that paved the way for the CBE's influence in the nascent field of biofilm research. Our faculty, students, and staff work daily to advance the frontiers of health, energy, industry, and the environment through biofilm research, education, and outreach. We typically have around 60 undergraduate students, and 60 master's and doctoral students working in our labs alongside top researchers in the field.
