Welcome to Community Underwriting - an underwriting agency owned by Not for Profits, established to make a real difference to the way insurance is provided in our sector. We operate under a unique business model in the Australian insurance market. Seventy percent of our surplus each year is returned to our shareholders as donations. A further five percent annually is set aside to fund a small grants program for those not for profit insurance clients not large enough to become shareholders. This models enables us to reinvest our client's insurance dollars back into the sector every year. The majority shareholders of Community Underwriting Agency are the Not for Profits whom we insure. Your Not for Profit clients are eligible to become shareholders of the underwriting agency if their annual premium exceeds $50,000. Working with Brokers We work with brokers across Australia to provide innovative insurance solutions for their Not for Profit clients. We quote on either a gross or net basis depending upon the relationship you have with your client and pay market competitive commissions. Our Security The majority of our products are underwritten by Berkley Insurance Australia (ABN 47 004 125 268) an Australian General Insurer who is APRA regulated and holds an AFS Licence (No 234438). We are also working on developing additional APRA approved security to enable us to offer brokers bespoke market solutions for larger or more complex Not for Profit risks.
