Middleton Partners is a Chicago-based private equity firm that invests in real estate assets in addition to operating businesses in the lower middle market focused on manufacturing, distribution, and service. Middleton is currently the sponsor/operator of 13 real estate assets totaling 3 million square feet across a wide variety of geographies and asset classes including office/hotel/condo. Additionally, Middleton is the sponsor/operator of Maurice Sporting Goods, O2COOL, and Food Service Exchange. Middleton is seeking opportunities with the following characteristics: • Standalone companies with revenues greater than $5 million or existing EBITDA between $1—$20 million. We are sector agnostic but remain interested in both consumer products and commercial foodservice equipment and supplies. • Orphaned brands or businesses that can serve as add-on investment opportunities in the outdoor retail or housewares space with revenues greater than $2 million. • Profitable companies seeking growth equity to pursue add-on acquisitions or organic growth opportunities. • Bankruptcy Code Section 363 sales or other turnaround opportunities requiring intense oversight and/or new management. Unlike traditional private equity firms, Middleton is not a fund and does not have a fixed investment mandate or time horizon. We have a strong investor base with the ability to perform due diligence and deploy capital quickly.
