Durgapur Sundaram Creative Welfare Society is a Non-Government Organisation whose work is focused on women empowerment, entrepreneurship & promotion of income generation among disadvantaged women to ambit their livelihood. DSCWS is registered under the Societies Registration Act in 2006 S/IL 38401; our main branch office is located at Santuri Block, Purulia, W.B. The NGO was set up in 2006 with a 3 member team who came from social work background. Our team is dynamic and always looks forward for advancement of women & adolescent girls who need support. Gender justice, natural resource management, and livelihood security are our primary areas of concern. Provide various opportunities to women and adolescent girls who have limited exposure to earn a livelihood by exploring their potential and hidden talents Impart useful knowledge for personality development, leadership and for enhancement of interpersonal skills for application in various aspects of life. Arrange & conduct various Skill Development Training Programs for Women & Adolescent Girls from rural areas like Food Processing, Decorative Candle making, Hand Embroidery, Kantha stitch, Bandini, Jute & File making, Bag making etc. Improve the social standard of women in Family & Society through financial literacy, increased control over resources, improved life-skills and collective actions. Build capacity within poor & economically disadvantaged women to overcome social and economic barriers, and thereby facilitating their full development into empowered citizens.
