Founded in Toronto, Bridge to Health Medical and Dental is comprised of a passionate group of medical and dental professionals brought together by a common desire to help provide healthcare to those in tremendous need. Our aim is to provide sustainable healthcare in a cost effective manner and have a lasting impact on the communities we serve. We work with local partners to provide sustainable, cost-effective healthcare through educational programs, clinical service provision and medical devices that are relevant and appropriate for the needs of the community. The organization follows a three-pillared approach to create the most sustainable care that includes: medical, dental, and community capacity building. Our methodology is based on a participatory, localized approach, placing the true needs of the intended beneficiaries at the center and hosting regular consultations with diverse community groups to ensure the program goals always remain relevant and appropriate. Our ongoing programs include collaboration with the Government in Kisumu County Kenya, point-of-care ultrasound training for paediatric pneumonia, obstetrics, and trauma in Yemen, non-communicable disease management through community health workers in Baltimore and partnering with a locally-run clinic in Iquitos, Peru. In each of the projects, Bridge to Health partners with civil society and public institutions alike to co-design and implement sustainable health programs that focus equally on prevention and treatment. In collaboration with our partners, Bridge to Health has provided care to more than 45,000 patients, trained more than 800 healthcare workers with more than 150 volunteers from around the world.
