ISSDA, which is short for Igniting Skills Sustainably, Development Agency, envisions a Canada where First Nations thrive in all respects. As its part to help First Nations thrive, ISSDA aids in providing First Nation communities with the skills necessary to build, operate, and maintain on-reserve community infrastructure through the establishment and operation of a community training organization where First Nation community members can excel. We matches First Nation trade students to a network of training providers. This ensures programs align with student abilities. As students develop, ISSDA matches students to training and employment opportunities in the trades at First Nation communities and other local businesses. Even after graduation, ISSDA continues to match its alumni to on-the-job training and professional development.
