The South Asia Scholarships Program is an Australian government initiative managed through AusAID in cooperation with the governments of the South Asia countries. Scholarships to study in Australia are a key delivery mechanism and integral part of the Australian Government’s development cooperation program across South Asia. AusAID’s South Asia Scholarships Program (SASP) encourages economic growth and prosperity in the region by increasing the capacity of organizations through motivated individuals applying their expert knowledge and skills to planned change programs in the country. The South Asia Scholarship Program operates in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan. Australia offers several different types of scholarship awards through the AusAID program. Two categories are most well known and actively supported by the work of the SASP team.
