The company is located in Guimarães a town in the north of Portugal. We are strategic placed on a central network of transportation that allow us to ship our production by sea, road or train for all destinations. The company started in 2001as a trader in the yarns industry. In 2006 SMBM announced the acquisition of Fifitex, a manufacture of yarns based in Guimarães Portugal. With the expertise and knowledge on the yards industry of more than 50 years, Fifitex as part of the SMBM family, gave us a sustainable business grow along the years. From the beginning to today, SMBM has evolved into a successful, standalone yarns trader business to a yarns manufacture, allowing us to focus our energies and resources on being “one global team”. Due to our strategic market vision, we manufacture a wide range of yarns, sucks as slub, mélange, knot, buttoned, injected, rustic, technical yarns, used in the textile industry, home textiles, decoration, clothing and upholstery. In our collections, the raw materials are used and blended in an almost unlimited way, emphasizing the use of cotton, linen, polyester, viscose, wool, cashmere, modal, silk, bamboo, mohair, etc. Versatility, innovation and development linked with the environmental and social concerns, is what drive us to get the best raw materials for our yarns.
