Centre for Sustainability Leadership (2004 to 2018) created life-changing programs for individuals and organisations. Our flagship program being the Future Makers Fellowship. We offered regional programs, online leadership learning and one-on-one coaching. We and our alumni: - Facilitate EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING, empowering participants through self-directed adventure and real-world action. - Go beyond the false distinction between the PERSONAL and the PROFESSIONAL. We focus on both, together. - Work with the WHOLE person. We emphasise the importance of HEAD, HEART and HANDS for creating change. - We create the place where rigorous RESEARCH meets PRACTICAL reality. - We know what SKILLS and ABILITIES today's Future Makers need in their personal toolkit and we shape our programs to build them: > Advanced communication skills and storytelling > Emotional intelligence > Community building > Creativity and collaboration > Design thinking and systems thinking > Influencing and enabling others > Negotiation and conflict resolution > Political understanding and creating change > Self-awareness and resilience We are proud of the significant achievements of our over 700 alumni: a powerful network of highly effective and connected sustainability leaders, who have a significant impact locally, nationally and globally in the creation of sustainable change. Our manifesto We believe passionately in our human potential to live with compassion and connection. We believe in challenging people to think and feel differently, and to live a life of meaning and purpose. We believe that truly understanding ourselves, others and the environment around us is a key step towards sustainability - both of ourselves as individuals, and of the world we live in. We believe in fostering the kind of leadership needed to tackle the complex challenges we face in sustaining the life of all species. We believe that the power of enabling a community of people working for positive environmental and social outcomes cannot be underestimated. We believe in leadership that is creative, compassionate and courageous. Leadership that comes from the heart and the head, that is insightful, purposeful and playful. Leadership that enables and empowers other leaders to take up the challenge.
