DEVISE - Developing Inclusive Education
www.devise.org.inEducation being a vital equipment of survival in the society, plethora of initiatives have been undertaken both by the government as well as the non government organizations to ensure that no particular individual is deprived of it. However, there is a dire need to improve the quality of education being imparted to these children, without which the very objective of “education for all” becomes redundant. A major component of quality can be attributed to the student’s knowledge and understanding of English education possesses the potential to dissolve the prevalent socioeconomic inequalities in the society but the education system itself has fallen prey to the gradations and inequalities owing to the manner in which it is imparted. This can only be addressed if proper emphasis is laid on the quality of education, subsequent to which necessary steps are undertaken to ensure that the underprivileged students do not continue to be confined to the lower strata of the educated. We at DEVISE, aim to facilitate the inclusion of the children, from the underprivileged and marginalized sections of the society, into the larger arena of education by equipping them with an appropriate understanding of English. Our objective is to transcend the barriers of socio-economic inequalities within the education system, which in return would open up a myriad avenues and opportunities for the students, to traverse and excel at.
